Description: Second from the bottom of Gibson’s ‘Student’ line, The ES-125t is a thin line, single pick-up arch-top that Gibson stopped manufacturing in 1969. She has a 16 1/4”, single-bound,laminated Maple body, a Mahogany neck and a Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard with Pearl dot inlays. This example retains its original tailpiece and tortoise grained pick guard allthough the bridge is not original having been replaced by a fully adjustable Schaller. The pick-up, also not original, is a Lollar ‘Dog Ear’ P-90 installed with no changes to the screw-hole pattern. The Kluson Deluxe tuning keys are period and correct but appear to us to be a little too clean to be original to this instrument. There has been a small Maple plug inserted into a ¼” hole in the top lower bout, between the knobs, to fill where a switch was once mounted. The knobs are not original. Despite all of the changes, or perhaps because of them, this instrument is a bright, easy player with a soulful tone and a light action. She will ship in a Washburn branded hard shell case.
