Description: A quilted maple jewel. The King of the Flat Tops gets a breath taking twist from the Gibson custom shop for 2008. One of only 26 built by (since retired) Gibson Master Luthier Ren Ferguson and made available that year. Slightly less boomy than other 200’s as all that curly maple seems to bring a dash more high end to the proceedings. Her gold Imperial tuners, ‘crown’ fret board inlays, inlayed mustache bridge and hand selected quilted maple back and sides make for just about the prettiest flat top any of us are likely to possess. Just look at her. I’ll wait. She suffered a little seem separation on the lower bout top. We had it re-glued by Master Luthier Norio Imai in NY and although we think the seam reads a little more than it used to, it has had no effect on tone. As the instrument ages it should become less apparent. She will ship in her OHSC with the original case candy including the Gibson Certificate of authenticity. Case shows some minor scuffing. We will live to regret selling her, I just know it.
