Description: Sears moved quite a few of the 600 series Silvertone instruments in the mid 60’s. This example, what Harmony, who built her, would have called an OM Grand Concert S1214, doesn’t look to have been played much by anybody in the 50 plus years since she left Chicago. The bridge is intact and not cracked as these so often are, the finish shows a few minor dings and scratches but nothing serious, the original tuners are in place and functioning with their buttons intact. The neck, which does not have a truss rod, is, unfortunately, bowed forward from decades of sitting in a closet tuned to pitch. As these Harmony built flat tops have a ladder braced spruce top with back and sides of birch, they have a sort of raggy Stella-esque, blues tone which might be cool for slide. A neck reset will be needed for regular use, but these aren’t that hard and you love doing stuff like that. She will ship in a period but non-original particle board case that is really beat up and covered in tape.
